FATHERING RESOURCES (LINKS)

General

Cangrands - Well, it's not exactly a fathering resource but grandparents can be just as important as moms and dads in kids' lives.  This is a beautifully structured web site with loads of resources for grandparents.  For those grandparents considering legal action to maintain contact with their grandchildren, be sure to check out the resources - legal section.

Fathers for Life - The website of Fathers for Life is in defence of men and fathers.  It promotes fathers within, not without families.

National Information Centre on Fatherhood - Fathers Direct is the UK's national information centre on fatherhood. It is a charity founded in 1999 by professionals with expertise in social work, family policy, business development and communications.

Father Involvement Initiative, Ontario Network - There are some in the helping professions and in academia who are seriously looking at the importance of fathers in their children's lives.  Check out the further resources on the drop down scroll bar on the home page.

Parenting

Dads Can - From this site's home page: "Dads Can promotes responsible and involved fathering by supporting men's personal development into fatherhood and healthy fathering patterns in our society. We believe that every child deserves a committed, loving, responsible father who is involved with the family."  This site was maintained only between 1999 and 2003 but still has some really useful information and tips.

Men's Divorce Issues

Kids 'n' Dad - This is an excellent Kitchener, Ontario based site providing top notch resources for divorced/separated dads.  From their home page: "Kids 'n' Dad believes that our responsibility is to work with fathers and families to ensure that a dad's desire to be a continuing parenting partner post-separation is realized for the short and long term benefit of the whole family."

Ottawa Men's Centre - A dedicated support group whose primary goal is to stem the trend of suicide by fathers. They provide divorce resources, impartial attorney referrals and support for men or fathers who are victims of false allegations, parental alienation and or gender bias.

Men's Movement and Gender Bias

Canadian Equal Parenting Council - Now accepting memberships.

GenderWar.org - According to the webmaster of "genderwar", this site publicizes the contempt for men in Western culture.  There are videos of interest.  This site is an interesting take on the male/female dynamic.

Glenn Sacks - Glenn Sacks is a men's and fathers' issues columnist and a nationally-syndicated radio talk show host.
